Sustainability
ULI Europe undertakes research and programming aimed at addressing the increasingly important connection between real estate development and the issues of sustainability, climate change, and urban resilience, at a global, regional, and local level.
For the 2024 ULI Europe C Change Summit, ULI Europe has worked alongside World Trade Center Barcelona and various vendors to promote sustainability and wellness practices. We are committed to reducing energy consumption and constantly seeking better recycling processes.
We are collaborating with eco-friendly caterers and providing healthy meal options. We have significantly reduced the amount of print materials and recycling of event resources. We have switched to almost exclusively digital onsite branding and all our delegate badges are fully recyclable. This all contributes to our goal of achieving zero-waste events. If attendees do not intend to participate in sessions or meals, we kindly request they notify the ULI team ([email protected]) in advance to prevent any excess food.
Additional practices and equipment have been incorporated to reduce the carbon footprint and energy usage throughout the event. The World Trade Center offers a thorough and comprehensive breakdown of their efforts to be a sustainable cornerstone of the overall management of the building and its users – read more here.
Barcelona is a world leader in sustainable tourism and we encourage delegates to utilise public transport where possible when exploring the city such as Barcelona bike sharing or metro. You can read more about responsible and sustainable tourism in Barcelona here.
